About the role

The NZ Police Cyber Security Centre is looking for a passionate individual to build and lead new portfolios within the team. The investigations and intelligence specialist role will focus on the creation and implementation of frameworks to support both intelligence and investigative outcomes. Leading a small team, the specialist will also support the development and run the operations of the cyber security insider threat program. This role will also stand in as an investigations subject matter expert during times of a cyber security incident and use their expertise to support the cyber security leadership team.

This role is new and exciting. A successful applicant will bring their intelligence expertise and apply their knowledge to new and different subject matter areas. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can problem solve and build solutions to support a team to operate for the future.

Note, the police cyber security centre has several roles available in a range of areas.

  • A strong intelligence background with demonstrated leadership, initiative, and innovation * Experience in a range of investigative subject matter areas * Cyber security or technology focused operational intelligence and/or investigative experience is desirable * Preferably a relevant tertiary qualification with a research focus demonstrative of critical thinking and strategic development * A collaborative and participatory style that encourages joint working practice, information sharing and innovation * The ability to develop and lead capability across all of Police with a wide range of stakeholders * A high level of commitment to quality and service, with emphasis on continuous improvement and seeking excellent * Well-developed communication skills, verbal and written * Live “Our Values” and lead “Our Business” aspirations * Have or be able to obtain and maintain a Government Top Secret Security Clearance
