Working in the Fixed Access Team
As a fixed access engineer you will be part of the Telenet Fixed Access Engineering team that is constantly working with cutting edge and diverse fixed technology. The main responsibilities of the team are situated on the physical layer: the optical network, and the HFC plant and platform running on those access networks. As a fixed access engineer, you will follow-up on technology evolutions in the access network, more specific the Docsis and PON domains to sustain capacity growth and improve the quality of experience for Telenet, Telenet business and wholesale customers. Design, scale and test the CCAP and OLT platforms inclusive Data, Video and Voice services or other features requested by the business. Conceptualize and document acceptance testing to support new products and services on the CCAP and OLT platforms and deliver the high- and low-level design towards operational team.

- Follow up on feature request and bug fixes in cooperation with other engineering teams, operational teams and suppliers.
- Design, testing and implementation of new features and services resulting in high level and low level design documentation updates.
- Taking the lead in or support epics and stories
- Interaction with standards bodies, vendor community experts & industry peers
- Technology watch, continuous learning, knowledge sharing, team player
- Tier 3 support
Your skills
- Clear Communication: You are an excellent communicator and can bring people together
- Writing Skills : Excellent English documentation writing skills
- Experience: You have worked within the fiber design or construction domain and have knowledge of among others network inventory systems, design tools, and geographical datasets
- Out-of-the-box thinking: you are not stuck in ‘old ways’, but rather welcome and actively explore new opportunities that will increase efficiency
