We are now looking for a full-time ESG Manager or Senior ESG Manager to join Mandatum Asset Management’s ESG Analysis & Reporting team.
The candidate we are looking for is a finance and investment professional with extensive knowledge of responsible investing/ESG to join our ESG team of five persons. You have several years of work experience preferably in asset management with a focus on ESG and responsible investing.
As a ESG Manager / Senior ESG Manager, you will work closely with the portfolio management teams, sales teams, and various other stakeholders, such as the reporting, legal, and compliance teams, across the organization. The ESG team is responsible, e.g., for supporting investment professionals on matters related to ESG, evaluating current and potential portfolio investments, and monitoring investment objects in terms of ESG factors and developments. This is a newly created role where you will also take part in and add value to meetings with international clients, as a subject matter expert alongside the international sales team. You will also have an essential role in shaping the organization’s approach to ESG.
Your main tasks are:
- to take part in and drive various projects related to responsible investing (e.g., SFDR, EU Taxonomy)
- to participate in meetings with international clients and support the sales team on ESG matters
- to follow and maintain awareness of sustainable finance regulation, ESG themes, trends, and tools
- to work collaboratively with and support different internal stakeholders in ESG-related matters
- to proactively assist in the production and development of a variety of ESG-related client presentations and RFPs
To succeed in the position, we expect you to have the following qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant work experience preferably with a focus on responsible investing/ESG from asset management, consulting, or similar
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Strong interest in ESG/responsible investing
- Excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written) in both Finnish and English, other languages such as Swedish are considered a plus
- Excellent research and analytical capabilities
- Good knowledge of sustainability frameworks, ESG ratings, responsible investment principles (UNPRI), EU Sustainable Finance Regulation
- Excellent knowledge of financial instruments (equity, fixed income, and alternatives) and markets overall
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Willingness to travel in the Nordics
- Hardworking, self-motivated, team player operating with the highest professional standards
