About the role
Our Robina Donor Centre is seeking a Donor Services Nursing Assistant (Phlebotomists) to support our donors through their donation process on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings for 4-hour shifts. We’re looking for people who have fantastic customer-facing experience and a genuine passion to deliver an exceptional service to our donors. As a Nursing Assistant, you will be responsible for providing an amazing experience for our donors while working collaboratively to achieve collection targets.
The shifts available are:
Thursday: 3:30pm-7:30pm / 3:00pm-7:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am-12pm / 8:30am-12:30pm
A day in the centre could see you:
Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
Set up machines, various tubing and collection bags
Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
Monitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation
Our paid and flexible self-paced training program has a balance between on-the-job practice, and online class schedules to ensure that you are well supported. Besides having a real passion to deliver an amazing donor experience, you’ll need to be able to:
Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs
Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
Be available to work between 3pm-7:30pm on Thursdays and between 8am-12:30pm on Saturdays
