The Shipping team is primarily responsible for fulfilling online orders and other shipping needs for our e-commerce sales and donated device distributions by packaging and sending out products in a timely manner. The Shipping Associate is responsible for, but not limited to, picking and packing orders from inventory shelves, selecting the appropriate materials required for secure transportation of devices, packaging and labeling products into boxes, and coordinating daily outbound shipments. You will ensure that the work of the department is done efficiently, effectively, and meets the goals and objectives set forth for your area.

Training is available for this entry-level role, however a successful candidate will have proficiency or experience with e-commerce fulfillment, shipping & receiving, or warehouse labor. The Human-I-T warehouse is NAID AAA-certified for data security, so all employees must pass a third-party background check as a condition of employment. This position reports directly to the Shipping Supervisor within the Operations team.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reviews invoices and prepares paperwork for ordered shipments
  • Retrieves (picks) orders of refurbished electronics products according to quantity, size etc. ensuring accuracy
  • Inspects and securely packs orders into appropriate packaging
  • Labels and boxes products prior to shipping
  • Place outbound orders in the proper delivery areas for pickup
  • Troubleshoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them
  • Maintains inventory of shipping and receiving supplies by anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt of goods, and stocking item
  • Operates process control of equipment and handle manual activities that are required to monitor and control the movement of product
  • Ensures that the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are met and sanitation practices are always followed
  • Cleans production line and process work area or other parts of facility to maintain work conditions
  • Stores items in an orderly manner in the warehouse
  • Disposes of damaged or defective items and e-waste
  • Helps in carrying and moving goods/palettes through an established process flow and throughout the warehouse
  • Adheres to established safety standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs

Education:

  • A high school diploma/GED or an equivalent required

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred

  • Problem solving
  • Physical ability, able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Great attention to detail
  • Able to read and write in English
  • Basic tool knowledge
  • Communication, written and verbal

  • Good physical strength and stamina
  • Proven experience as order picker or other warehouse position
  • Experience or license in handling forklifts, pallets jacks and other warehouse equipment preferred
