We are currently looking for an experienced Product Development Chef to join our NPD team based on the sought-after Central Coast. Reporting to the Technical Manager, your primary responsibility will be to drive the development process of new sauce products from customer briefs through to product launch.
Working in the test kitchen, you will perform numerous creative tasks from recipe development, hands-on product development, completing bench samples and recipe redevelopment of current products to remain competitive. You will be responsible for the continual monitoring of new and existing products to ensure correct procedures and protocols are being followed.

About the Role:
- Part-time casual role, with potential to progress to a permanent role
- Daily hands-on activities including recipe development and managing product scale-up
- Preparation and documentation of sample submissions to meet specific customer requirements/briefs
- Liaising with current customers for any new product development
- Liaising with external raw material and packaging suppliers
- Perform general administrative duties including filing of documentation and data entry
Who we’re looking for:
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in product development within the food industry and/or as a Qualified Chef
- Additional tertiary qualifications desirable, but not essential
- General understanding of SQF & HACCP quality systems and food safety requirements
- Good working knowledge of FSANZ
- Understanding of recipe development to match our manufacturing processes & product scale up to bulk manufacturing
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- Good administration and organisational skills
- Good computer literacy and ability to use Microsoft Office & Google Workspace
- Ability to work independently as well as working in a team environment
- Demonstrated time management and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong creative drive
