Assistant Manager – Engineering Planning (Operations)(Ref.: 2300011L)

Responsibilities

• Define maintenance and engineering requirements of the design of new railway extension projects to ensure the operability, sustainability, safety and efficiency of the adopted design is customer-oriented, user friendly, safe and cost effective

• Coordinate with line departments and project teams of Hong Kong Transport Services and Capital Works Business Units to safeguard the implementation of interface works on the operating railway and bring minimized impact to passengers and operating teams
• Monitor and report on cost expenditures associated with maintenance resources supporting the operating interface works and new project delivery
• Coordinate with line departments on new asset handover and operational hazards close-out with respect to new railway opening
• Coordinate and support on-site inspections, testing & commissioning, statutory inspections, handover inspections, demonstrations and other trial operations activities before railway opening

Requirements

• Degree in a related engineering discipline
• A minimum of 4 years’ working experience, of which 1 year should be gained in a railway environment
• Possession of Corporate Membership of a recognised professional institution, such as Hong Kong Institution of Engineers is preferred
• Good interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
• Multi-discipline experience in engineering and knowledge of railway planning and operations engineering are preferred
