Biking is one of the most popular outdoor activities in New Zealand, which is why we're looking for a Bike Mechanic to join our team. As a mechanic, you'll have a hands-on role in building and maintaining bikes to meet customer demands. You'll also play an important role in ensuring we have enough stock on hand and supporting your colleagues wherever needed. Health and safety are paramount in everything we do, so you'll need to have a strong understanding of safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
We're looking for a Bike Mechanic for our Queenstown store. This is a permanent and full-time role (minimum guaranteed hours 30 per week) Sunday to Thursday.
Remuneration will be between $29.66 – $ 30.10 per hour.
In this role you will need to;
- Competently and independently build and deconstruct all styles of bikes, bleed breaks, service forks and shocks, replace bearings, bearing overhaul, replace chain drive, tune gears including electronic systems, build and true wheels and install accessories.
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Ensure we have enough stock.
- Understand the importance of bike safety
- Maintain your work area to an excellent standard and support others where needed
- Be computer literate
- Possess organisation and timekeeping ability
- Have a meticulous and thorough approach with consistency and a high level of attention to detail
To be considered for this role you must meet the following minimum requirements:
- At least 3 years proven experience as a bike mechanic or possess a bike mechanic certification or accreditation.
- A passion for the outdoors and first hand understanding of gear requirements for relevant activities in various environments
